Sun Fun Festival® Fast Facts

The Sun Fun Festival® is a federally trademarked name owned by the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Sun Fun Festival serves as a summertime kickoff for South Carolina’s Grand Strand and a beginning of the Sun Fun Summer of Celebration which runs during the summer from June through September. The Sun Fun Festival includes two days of free live entertainment, professional sporting events, Miss Sun Fun/Teen Pageant, food and arts/crafts vendors, free celebrity meet-and-greets, free concerts, free kid’s zone and much, much more!

Drawing the Sun Fun Summer of Celebration to close on Labor Day weekend, the Beach Boogie and Barbeque Festival features family-friendly entertainment and events, including live music, a barbeque competition, a car show, a kids’ area and more.

About Sun Fun Pageants

Miss Sun Fun and Miss Sun Fun Teen represent the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, the member businesses, and the Grand Strand throughout their reign.

The pageant Queens travel to festivals, consumer trade shows, legislative events, regional and international areas on promotional trips, as well as, participate in many local festivities.

While at promotional receptions and functions, their main job is to talk to the guests and answer questions they may ask about the Sun Fun Festival® and the Grand Strand Area.

Their picture may be used in Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce publications.

The important qualities that we look for in Miss Sun Fun and Miss Sun Fun Teen are poise, personality, photogenic, and the ability to talk to people they may meet in a professional manner about our beautiful Grand Strand Area.

The editorial pages of our handy Official Myrtle Beach Area Vacation Guide cover almost every subject relating to Grand Strand tourism. Several questions during interviews may come from this publication. Please take time to familiarize yourself with a few of the facts.

2005 was the first Miss Sun Fun and Miss Sun Fun Teen pageant, a preliminary to the Miss South Carolina USA and Miss South Carolina Teen USA pageants.
